Careers Advisor – London Stratford Permanent

Would you like to coach and mentor young people with a disability into their next career? How about joining a national charity with a reputation for being a great employer (27 days leave plus bank holiday!) and lots of opportunities? With home working typically 2 days a week.

The charity will service in the heart of Stratford London, to support young people with the next steps into their future. Clients will have a disability which can be self-diagnosed and might be a physical or a mental health support need and they have approached this charity for extra support in finding work. You will coach and mentor them to get there. This will be a varied role:

• Working with clients over a 6-month period, delivering 3 one-hour sessions. Sessions covering anything from supporting young people to type up their first ever CV, supporting them to apply for their first UCAS application, helping with the transition from school to college.
• Empowering young people to think about reasonable adjustments and to know their disability rights in the workplace.
• Delivering one to one coaching, and group work sessions to help individuals progress and gain confidence.
• Autonomy! Freedom of managing your own diary.
• Working flexibly – you will likely be typically based from home 2 days a week, with the rest of the week based in a school or college.
• Joining a friendly and supportive team, with a relaxed and approachable team leader!
