This is a specialist role helping ex-offenders progress towards Employment, Training, and Education.
We asked our client why you should join their team – they said that they have the best team at the minute! Everyone is motivated and focussed, and they genuinely care about wanting to make a difference.
The role
This is a brand-new role within the organisation – the main locations you would have to cover are Hereford, Worcestershire, Redditch, and Kidderminster (you will be based closest to the nearest probation centre where you live).
But you must also be willing to travel to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Coventry, and possibly other areas across the West Midlands to provide support to the team (as and when needed).
You will also be the Employment Specialist link for prisons at Hewell, Birmingham, and potentially others across West Midlands (prison visits at least once a month or less).
Think of it as being a part of a rapid deployment force!
Each probation centres will have a dedicated Employment Advisor that you will work with, who has their own caseload and helps them to access services such as housing support, finance or substance misuse services. When their caseload become job ready, you will then try and fast track them into employment by sourcing local vacancies with employers, and coaching and mentoring them throughout the application process.
Take note – this role is admin and travel heavy! So accuracy and willingness to travel are important.
Team-work and collaboration are key.
Targets
You need to be able to work towards targets (for this role, max target is achieving 8 employment outcomes monthly). You must be able to engage with employers, manage your own diary, and be flexible with travelling where needed.
But the key goal at present is caseload progression – this means delivering employability which could cover cv writing, interview training, and job searching so that they can find employment.
Where is my HQ?
You will be based closest to the nearest probation centre where you live. Working hours are 9AM – 5PM (30 mins lunch), Monday to Friday
