We are really pleased to be recruiting for one of the leading charities that specialises in supporting offenders to help improve their well-being and live a crime free life. Recognised as a great company to work for by both investors in people and ‘best companies’.
You will be based at HMP Bullingdon, which works with long-term prisoners prior to release with the aim of society reintegration. This will involve looking at areas such as housing, health, employment as well as money & budgeting. You will have a caseload of 50-60, and will support clients to help them deal with issues that are typically faced through long period of imprisonment such as anxiety, and social exclusion. It is essential that you have the ability to work with multi-agencies, such as Citizens Advice, JCP, housing departments or specialist support agencies that cover areas including education and employment. You must be unfazed working within a prison environment, and unfazed when it comes to working with challenging clients e.g. sex offenders. You will work with peers from different agencies within a supportive, social environment so you will not be left alone.
There are targets to meet, so you need to be able to work through these. And you must be confident in working within a prison environment.
To apply for this role, it is essential that you previously have/have had experience of working with offenders/ex-offenders within a support capacity. So you might have done a very similar role before, or perhaps be from an employment services sector background. This is also a great opportunity for Criminology/Criminal studies graduates. This is a hugely rewarding role, and you will be making a huge difference in people’s lives. You will also have sound knowledge of the benefit system, able to work with multi-agencies, and manage your own diary.
Interviews will take place ASAP via Microsoft Teams
