Looking to join a huge charity with amazing career options?
This organisation is fantastic! Why? Management is supportive, teamwork is valued, no micro-management, progression is realistic, and the organisation is competitive.
What is the role?
This is a specialist role helping ex-offenders find employment. You will be engaging with businesses to provide a FREE recruitment service and talking to them about the benefits of employing an ex-offender.
In a nutshell, you need to be able to work towards targets, be great at engaging and talking to employers, and can work independently.
The role is varied and has aspects of Business Development (so cold calling) and Account Management. Sectors mainly cover construction and warehousing, but these could also cover general utilities, transport, hospitality and some specialist areas such as engineering. The goal is to bring quality opportunities, and not just volume.
You will assist on caseloads, so it is important that you are unfazed when it comes to working with challenging ex-offenders. Each probation centres will have a dedicated Employment Advisor that you will work with, who coaches the clients to access services such as housing support, finance or substance misuse services. When the clients become job ready, you will then try and fast track them into employment by sourcing local vacancies with employers and coaching and mentoring them throughout the application process.
Take note – this role is admin heavy! Lots of paperwork! So, accuracy is important.
Where is my HQ?
You will be covering Kent (Littlehampton, Maidstone, Margate, and Rochester) probation centres so you must be flexible to travel and ideally be able to drive. However, this is a blended approach to work so you could find yourself working from home at times (1 – 2 days) but in time, you will be expected to work full time from the nearest probation office to where you live.
Interested in applying?
We are looking for someone with a Can do attitude who is oozing with confidence that is willing to work with a large caseload of challenging ex-offenders.
This is a great fit for if you already have experience within the criminal justice sector, recruitment consultants looking for a change, someone who has dedicated experience within the Employment services field (employment advisor, employability tutors) or have worked within the buisness development field, sales or media.
Recent Criminology/Criminal Studies Grad?
This is also a great opportunity for Criminology/Criminal studies graduates. Ideally, you have undertaken a volunteering experience/work experience within the criminal justice sector. As well as having some B2B or B2C experience.
Any questions, give us a call in the office and ask for Jess for an informal chat (contact number on the Red 5 People website)
