People are not disabled by their impairment or difference. They are disabled by the barriers that society has created for them. You will support and help people to tackle these barriers so that they can access employment.
Every 7 weeks, you will work with a cohort of 12 people. Coaching and mentoring them so they can build up the skills to move towards employment and all the positive things that brings (independence, money, self-esteem). You will deliver some group work. Approximately 2 mornings a week (so 14 over 7 weeks) based on modules / content which is already created for you. This will cover subjects such as CV writing, job applicants, and when / if you need to disclose your disability.
The team you are joining is really friendly and supportive. Everyone mucks in, and is listened to. And it’s a great culture to grow and develop yourself. Our evidence on this is not only their glass door reviews, but the people we placed at the charity years ago and are still there.
At the moment you will be home based until Spring. When things return to normal, in theory a typical week looks like 2 days in Stratford, 1 in Ealing and 1 in Brent (with another day flexi). However, there is a good chance that a blended home working approach may well develop.
To apply, you must have a track record of supporting people back into work. You might have worked as an Employment Advisor, Employment Coach, Careers Advisor or have maybe worked as a project worker or support worker and have contributed towards helping people into employment.
Please apply via this advert (or if you would like to talk to someone first then feel free to call the office and ask for James, number on the Red 5 People website).
