IAG Advisor (Custody-based) – Part time – Ref: LZ430 Part-Time

You will be joining a charity that have won awards for being a great employer (best companies / investors in people), and working as part of the prison team delivering IAG within HMP Channings Wood.

This is a part-time role at 22.5 hours a week.

Objective

The aim of the role is to provide IAG support to prisoners. You will be meeting prisoners and delivering a one to one IAG session, which will cover things such as CV writing, applying for jobs, progressing within the prison setting, educational courses / programmes available, and sign posting to other providers who can provide specialist support upon release around housing, drug and alcohol or family re-integration.

Targets

You will have targets to work towards so you must be driven and adaptable to challenging situations i.e. minimum of 10 Skills Action Plans a week, jointly arrange 2 Employer Sector Talks a year, and receive a minimum of 85% Customer Satisfaction.

Salary

£22,000 pro rata if you do not possess an IAG 4 qualification.

If you do not have the qualification, you must be willing to do the Level 4 Diploma in Careers Information and Advice. Salary will then increase to £25,000 pro rata on award of qualification.

Working hours

This is a part time role at 22.5 hours a week.

3 days a week (between Monday – Thursday) = 7.5 hours a day (8.30am – 4.30pm)

You ideally have experience of working in a custody/probation setting i.e. as a Prison/Probation Officer. Or have experience of working within the Employability Sector i.e. as an Employment Advisor.  You will be super organised and have a passion for making a difference to offenders lives.
